COVID-19 Update - June 11, 2020

As we continue on in June, the LFSC is happy to be back with some of our skaters in a new way - with some dryland training and our newest addition, a rollerblade program for our PowerSkaters.
As the province moves into Phase 2 of the Relaunch, we are waiting for further direction from the City of Leduc, Skate Canada: Alberta-NWT/Nunavut and the Province about the Return to Skating in a consistent and safe manner.
The Return to Skating will not be straightforward, but we appreciate your patience and support throughout the process.

COVID-19 Update - March 14, 2020

Hello LFSC Families

Following the recent guidelines provided by Alberta Health, Skate Canada and the City of Leduc (, including the recent closure of the Leduc Recreation Centre, the Leduc Figure Skating Club has had to make some difficult decisions about programming in the coming weeks.  All LFSC programming has been cancelled until further notice.

At this time, we are hopeful to have our April classes running as previously scheduled. However, we will continue to re-evaluate this as the coming weeks progress.

Please see the information below regarding remaining fundraising options as well as our potential Spring session programs.

It is necessary for us to cancel the previously scheduled Skate-A-Thon for March 18th.  In order to complete any remaining fundraising commitment we have 2 options:

  • The Purdy’s fundraiser is still open until March 21st.  If you would like to participate in this fundraising, but still require your individual sign in information, please contact Kelsey at
  • You may buyout your fundraising for $100.  This can be added to your account by contacting Kelsey at

Spring Session

We are still hopeful to be offering our Spring session programs starting in May and going through mid-June.  Classes that we have been working towards include PreCanSkate, CanSkate, ITS and StarSkate programs.  We have also planned CanPowerSkate classes for Initiation through Bantam levels, which include PowerSkate instruction as well as an opportunity for scrimmage during each class.  Finally, we have also been working towards two adult programs, including a General Adult Skate class for all levels of adult skaters, as well as an Adult Hockey Skills class for those adults that are new to hockey and looking to improve their skills.

We will be monitoring the current situation and be meeting frequently in order to try and get our club members back on the ice.  In the meantime, we hope that everyone is able to stay safe and healthy.
